Dodge’s practical muscle car is back for 2020 with a wide range of trims from the base SXT to the 717-hp variant. The 2020 Dodge Charger starts at a price of $31,390, although higher models easily surpass $70,000.
The base model is up $425 from the 2019 version. Buyers get a familiar 3.6-liter V-6 engine with 292 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque as standard. GT models upgrade to 300 hp and 264 lb-ft of torque, priced $150 higher this year at $33,390.
If you want a V-8, you can opt for the R/T rated at 370 hp and 395 lb-ft of torque. Prices for this model are up slightly to $37,890. Scat Pack models get an upgraded V-8 making 485 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque, and a price tag of $41,490 to start.
New for 2020 are the widebody models with fender flares that add 3.5 inches to the body width. They also get special 20-inch wheels riding on sticker Pirelli 305/35ZR20 tires. Scat Pack Widebody models start at $47,490.
SRT Hellcat gets the widebody treatment as standard, along with a 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 producing 707 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. The gas guzzler tax on this model is now $2,100, bringing the total starting price up to $73,240.
But that’s not even the most powerful—or expensive—Charger this year. New for 2020, the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody Daytona 50th Anniversary Edition boosts output to 717 hp. This model, which pays homage to the 1969 Charger Daytona, features cosmetic updates including unique decals and a bright blue paint option that’s available exclusively on this trim. Prices are an eye-watering $77,735 with the gas guzzler tax. Only 501 units will be sold.
In addition to higher prices and a new special edition, there has been some feature shuffling throughout the Charger lineup. The Blacktop Package has been updated with new wheels, and a caramel color Nappa leather and Alcantara interior is available. A few new colors—including Frostbite, Hellraisin, and Sinamon Stick—will join the lineup sometime during the model year. A Carbon & Suede Interior Package and interior instrument panel badging are new on the Scat Pack and Hellcat.
Dealers can begin ordering the 2020 Dodge Charger this fall, although the car won’t arrive in dealerships until early 2020.
